I have lived in the same house in Browns Valley for close to 40 years. During those years I was a volunteer fire fighter and one of the founders of the Loma Rica/Browns Valley Community Service District (The Fire Department). 35 years as a Charter member of the Foothill Lions, served a short time on the Board of Directors of the Browns Valley Irrigation District before being appointed, by Governor Pete Wilson, to the Yuba County Board of Supervisors. I also served as Chairman of the Yuba County Water Agency. For the last 17 years I have been the owner of the Territorial Dispatch Newspaper, a "Watch Dog on Government." For these reasons I feel that I am uniquely qualified to represent the people of Yuba County's 5th District.
I believe that to know how a politician votes is not enough. It is far more important to know what changes and direction are initiated by your elected representative. No more rubber stamps.
Before moving to Browns Valley I became an Eagle Scout, went to American River College, joined the United State Marine Corp Reserve, was Yard Foreman for Armco Steel in Davis, and owned a Gas Station in Carmichael. After the Jimmy Carter gas rationing fiasco in the mid 70's I closed the station and went to work for Montgomery Ward in Sacramento. Six months later I was transferred to Marysville to manage their Automotive Department.
My wife, Kitty, and I have been married almost 40 years. We have two daughters Melisa and Trisha and one grandson Evan.
