One Day Seminar on the Constitutional Sheriff

The Sutter Buttes Tea Party Patriots has organized a community event titled “The Sheriff and The Citizen”. This one day seminar being presented in part by Sheriff Richard Mack, published author and founder of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association, will focus on the constitutional role of the County Sheriff and will serve to educate sheriff candidates, deputies and citizen supporters of the Sheriff with regard to the significance of the constitutional role of the only elected law enforcement officer in the country.

The course curriculum, published by The Institute on the Constitution, is appropriate for Sheriff candidates, DA candidates, deputies and citizens to understand The American View of Law and Government and its relationship to the U.S. and State Constitutions in order that they are ready, willing and able to support the constitutional role of the Sheriff.

Key elements covered in the course include the following:

Recognize the sheriff’s oath of office and its proper application. Understand and articulate The American View of Law and Government. Identify the Founders formula for preventing tyranny. Learn the doctrines of nullification and interposition and their relationship to the office of sheriff. Discover the authority of the elected sheriff. Appreciate the importance of elected officials upholding their oath of office.
