The Feather River Tea Party Patriots announced Lt. Col. Charlie Schaupp (Ret.), Conservative Candidate for the 3rd Congressional District, will be the Special Guest Speaker for their next meeting, Monday, April 2, 2018.

The Schaupp family currently farms over 3000 acres in the 3rd Congressional District and Charlie understands first-hand what it means to produce crops, make a payroll, pay rents, pay property taxes, and run a business to make ends meet. The family has farmed in the Hungry Hollow area of northern Yolo County since his great-grandparents settled there in the 1880’s.

Charlie Schaupp’s agricultural roots run as deep as his passion for freedom. Charlie is a graduate of Yuba College where he received an associate degree in agricultural business. He received his bachelor’s degree in agriculture from California State University, Chico with an emphasis in soils, irrigation and drainage. A water science specialist, Charlie also engaged in additional graduate studies in hydrology and water resource development.

Lieutenant Colonel Schaupp, United States Marines, is a proven patriot. He is a retired Marine officer and his 28-year service with Marine reserves was both extensive and honorable. During a 5-year mobilization in the Global War on Terrorism, Charlie served as Anti-Terrorism Officer for the 3rd Marine Division, Security Officer for First Marine Expeditionary Force in battle of Fallujah (duties as a special staff officer to General Conway assigned to safeguard access to classified information and operations), and Deputy Camp Commander and Anti-Terrorism officer for Camp Courtney, Okinawa-Japan, protecting and safeguarding over 5000 Marines and families who were deployed overseas.

Charlie was also mobilized in 1991 for Operation Desert Storm and served as the Commanding Officer of Company B, 4th LSB ‘The Stockton Marines’ in combat operations supporting the 2nd Marine Division’s attack and advance into Kuwait City. He, again, was called up in the service of freedom in 1997 and was mobilized to support peace enforcement operations in the Bosnia crisis.

Charlie is earnestly committed to helping our youth. He served as a Boy Scout leader for over 20 years and while deployed overseas to Okinawa, Japan, he carried out the duties as the Assistant District Commissioner and Scout Round-table Commissioner in the Far East Council to ensure the success of scouting programs for our military families who were stationed in foreign counties. For his service to scouting, Charlie is a recipient of the Silver Bear District Leadership Award from the Boy Scouts.

Charlie is strongly committed to lowering taxes. As a former director of the Yolo County Taxpayers Association, he worked to ensure elected officials were held accountable when spending tax money thereby ensuring governmental fiscal responsibility. He is also a proud veteran and serves in several veteran organizations. He is currently the Commander of Western Yolo Post 7143, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).

Don’t forget – Our regular feature In The News with Paul Preston, Agenda 21 Radio, will follow our Special Guest Speaker. Paul will be discussing events of the day.
