Gold Sox vs. Bears for weekend series

Marysville, Ca.

The Yuba City Bears rode Rickey Ramirez’s hot arm to a 5-3 victory in the first game of a three game series between the Marysville Gold Sox and the Yuba City Bears. Ramirez pitched eight innings, striking out eight batters while only allowing one run. The Gold Sox rallied in the top half of the ninth inning behind a two-RBI single from Grant Horwitz but Dalton Bishop struck out the next batter to earn the save. The Bears lead the Twin City Rivalry Series 2-1.

The series continued on Saturday at as the Gold Sox hosted the Bears with fireworks, by Feather Falls Casino Brewing Company, after the game

Josh Winkler’s 2-RBI single with two outs in the top of the 9th inning sent the Bears and Gold Sox into extra innings. Kalen Crisosto’s double in the 10th inning scored Dace Asher for the go-ahead run as the Yuba City Bears came from behind to beat the Marysville Gold Sox 5-4. Andrew Fuentes pitched three stellar innings of shutout ball to pick up the win for the Yuba City Bears. The Yuba City Bears increased their lead in the Twin City Rivalry Series to 3 games to 1.

The series concluded Sunday at 6:05 as the Bears host the Gold Sox.
