Spooktacular River Run Raising Funds for Y-S-C United Way

spooky10 10Yuba-Sutter’s annual Halloween season family-oriented walk/run, the Yuba-Sutter-Colusa United Way’s “Spooktacular River Run” is coming October 27th!

Several hundred walkers and runners will traverse the Feather River levees, many in costume. The 10k run begins from Gauche Aquatic Park on C Street in Yuba City at 9:00, with the 5k run starting at 9:30. All run participants will be chip timed.

Participants will again receive healthy foods and beverages following their events. And there’s free face-painting for all ages!

Capping off the event will be the awarding of some 80 medals and awards for best costumes. Plus, colorful trick or treat bags for all young children.

“We have geared this walk/run for families to enjoy Halloween weekend with a fun event, as well as to please those who take their running more seriously,” Executive Director Bob Harlan said.

Complimentary event shirts are guaranteed for those registering by October 18. After October 18, shirts will be on a first come, first served basis.

Registrations made by October 18 are $25.00 per person for 18+, $20.00 for military and members of teams of four or more, $15.00 for students 6-18 years and Free for children five and under. Registration increases by $5.00 after October 18.

The net proceeds from the Spooktacular River Run support Yuba-Sutter-Colusa United Way’s 30 Partner Agencies and the five non-profit recipients of community impact grants as well as other initiatives throughout the year.
