On 01-08-2019 at about 1038 hours, Marysville Police responded to the 1400 Block of Yuba Street in reference to three pit bulls attacking a person. Officers arrived on scene and the pit bulls were already locked in a fenced yard in the area. The victim, a 14 year old male, sustained puncture wounds and a male adult sustained puncture wounds and one broken ankle as a result of the incident. The owner of the dogs was arrested on an outstanding warrant. The three pit bulls were impounded and transported to the Yuba County Animal Care Services facility.
01-10-2019, the Marysville Police Department conducted further investigation in case. The pit bulls were determined to not be licensed or vaccinated. During this investigation, officers were preparing a petition to have the dogs determined vicious/dangerous animals and request euthanasia, however the dog owner surrendered their rights to the dogs and consented to the euthanasia. The three pit bulls will be held in quarantine for a period of 10 days at the Yuba County ACS prior to the euthanasia.
