Yuba City, Ca.
The Yuba Sutter legal center for seniors will hold its 24th Annual Italian Dinner fund raiser Friday, Feb.22, 2019, at the Veterans Hall in Yuba City. One of the first senior legal offices started under the Older Americans Act, the Legal Center began offering free legal advice and assistance to the Yuba Sutter community 1977. Since then, the Legal Center has assisted thousands of seniors in landlord-tenant matters, obtained restraining orders to stop abuse, resolved consumer disputes, and obtained benefits to which area seniors are entitled. Each year the Italian Dinner serves as the Legal Center’s major fund raiser. “This is an important fund raiser to help sustain these essential services to our community”, said Susan Townsend, directing attorney. All monies raised will be used to provide free legal services to area seniors. Marysville Kiwanis will prepare the dinner. Students from River Valley High School will attend to the tables. There will be raffle prizes, a silent auction and a dessert auction with a guest emcee. Sponsorships for tables, auction items, etc., are available. Persons can also support the Legal Center by donating silent auction items, raffle prizes or desserts. The evening starts at 6:30 p.m. with a no-host wine and beer bar provided. Dinner is at 7 p.m. The legal Center is a Yuba Sutter Colusa United Way agency and is also funded by the Agency on Aging/Area 4. Tickets are $15 each or $80 for a table of six. For more information, to sign up as a sponsor or to get tickets, contact the Legal Center, 725 D. Street, Marysville, or call 742-8289 or 742-2334.
