Marysville, Ca.

Currently 12 students are taking a night time welding class taught by Jeff Magill,

constructed welding shop at the Yuba County Charter School in Marysville.  The

beautiful shop designed by Ken Hamel, CTE director, and Anthony Beeler, daytime

instructor is working out well for the evening class focusing on professional level

welding certifications through the AWS (American welding society).  Mr. Magill

who taught at Wheatland Union High School for 29 years, 36 years total teaching,

is a certified welding inspector (CWI) through the AWS. These international

certifications are mainly focused on 3/8”  and 1” plate and 3” and 5” pipe.

Certifications earned in this class are good throughout the world.  The class meets

every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6-9 PM at the welding shop at the

Yuba County Charter School.  Student Matt Napierski has earned the most certs

so far at 8.  With a value of $175 each out in the real world that equals $1400

worth of professional level welding certifications-all covered in the class.  Cost of

the class-0, all covered by YCOE CTE.  For further information on the class contact
