A new program at Books & More is holding craft workshops on each Saturday from 10 – 12. During the past few weeks we have had groups who are learning to knit, made a quilted grab bag, put together greeting cards, quite a variety of projects. Each quarter we plan a new set of workshops. The end of this quarter of projects is Feb. 16, then we will start another set of workshops. The last workshop of this quarter will have Jani Beckwith leading a group making collages. We will have a raffle each quarter, too. Stop by and check us out.
Brownsville Thrift Store will be holding a Bag Sale during the week of Feb. 6th. You can stuff a bag with many items for $3.00, what a bargain. Come help support our volunteer fire department.
On February 9 a group of parents from Yuba Feather school are having a fund raiser in front of Books & More. They are raising money to send students to the science program at Shady Creek. This is a week long camp that used to be held at Woodleaf and is a great program. They will be selling Valentine goodies and other items. If any of our flea market people would like to set up a booth that Saturday, that would be great. How about some local crafters setting up a booth; hope the weather is great.

Look Back in Time – In 1912 Joseph Rose made a big strike at the Twentieth Century Wonder Mine in Rackerby, paying $5,000 per ton (wonder what the tonnage price is now).
Hope to see you in Brownsville soon. Christine and Yvonne
